Hands and Feet

September 19, 2016, By: Jimmy Scruggs

When God’s people are in need, be ready to help them. Always be eager to practice hospitality. Romans 12:13
At Crossroads, we have a yearly project in which volunteers go out into the community to help people with home projects they can’t do on their own. It’s called Project One, and last Saturday marked a decade of service to our community. Over 600 hundred volunteers came out to help people in need. I can’t help but think of how many of us need help with the struggles of life. I am proud to be in a church that gives to others and reaches out to people in our local community who are in real need. This Godly belief is what brought Celebrate Recovery to Crossroads twelve years ago, and continues to this day. You don’t need to be a church member, you don’t need to believe in Jesus, you don’t need money; you just need to be in need. I didn’t come to Celebrate Recovery because life was going great, and neither did you. We come because we are in trouble and we need help. God will do for us what we can’t do for ourselves. In our churches and in our ministries we become the hands and feet of Jesus, not just in each other’s lives, but in lives of people we don’t even know. It doesn’t matter where you serve, just serve. God first loved us so that we may love each other. Find a person to love on today, be the hands and feet of Jesus. “So let our people learn to devote themselves to good works, so as to help cases of urgent need, and not be unfruitful.” Titus 3:14 Love God, love people, Jesus first!
