DECORATIONS TEAM

Time: Main decorating times will be Oct 24-27, 9am–5pm; Other decoration times will be one or two evenings during the same time period.
Team Lead: Lauren Benzel

Help create a warm, fun and welcoming atmosphere by placing large and small decorations, lighting and other fall accents on the west patio, atrium, kids hallway and auditorium.

FACILITIES: SET-UP TEAM

Time: Sunday, Oct 22, 11:15-12:15pm; Oct 24-27, 9am-12pm
Team Lead: Cy Dieter

Help set up tables, pipe and drape, large decorations, signs and other items. This team will also be available to load in larger items for those who are decorating booths.

FACILITIES: TAKE-DOWN TEAM

Time: Oct 28, 5-7pm
Team Lead: Cy Dieter

Help take down tables, pipe and drape, large decorations, signs and other items. This team will also clean up and reset the facility in preparation for the Sunday activities the following morning.

CANDY TEAM

Time: Oct 28, 12:30–5pm; Every Sunday in October, 9:45–11:40am (before and after the Sunday service)
Team Leads: Hal & Lindsey Maddox

Collect candy at the Spooky-Palooza table in the atrium prior to the event. Prepare and distribute candy and party favors to all booths and teal pumpkins during the event.

HOSPITALITY TEAM

Time: Oct 28, Noon–5pm; Also one scheduled time the week prior to prepare 400 swag bags.
Team Leads: Michael Melancon

Assemble the Swag Bags and distribute at the event. This team will also provide hospitality by welcoming our guests to the event, overseeing security and answering questions.

HOST A BOOTH TEAM

Time: Oct 28, 12:30–5pm (plus set up time)
Team Lead: Carol Priddy & Debbie Mathews

Decorate your very own booth (10’x10′ pipe and drape space) in the Crossroads auditorium, put on your costume (or not) and hand out candy or party favors to kids that pass by during the Family Party. Another option is to create a simple game in your booth area to raise the fun level. Bring your own candy/favors or let us provide it.

PRESCHOOL & UNDER TEAM

Time: Oct 28, Noon–5pm  
Team Lead: Amy Scruggs

Create a warm and wonderful experience for the “littles” in our community. This team will decorate, lead games, crafts and other activities in the kids hallway of the Crossroads facility.

KIDS CRAFT TEAM

Time: Oct 28, Noon–5pm  
Team Lead: Kat Lewis & Sandy Swaim

There’s more to Spooky-Palooza than candy. In this area, children will access their creativity and decorate a specialized craft. This team will welcome kids to the area and help kids create and then take home a piece of their own Spooky-Palooza art.

FOOD TEAM

Time: Oct 28, Noon–5pm

There’s nothing like the smell and sound of freshly popping popcorn to make a kid’s eyes sparkle. This team will prepare and serve popcorn, hot chocolate and hot cider for our guests. 

COSTUME CHARACTERS TEAM

Time: Oct 28, Noon–5pm 
Team Lead: Rachel Goering

We have purchased some-top of-the-line, head-turning professional costumes for Octoberfest. You could be in one of them. This team will be on the west patio to welcome guests for the Disability Inclusion and Family Parties. You’ll also be scheduled to be at the Photo Booth for a period of time during both parties.

BOUNCE HOUSES TEAM (INFLATABLES)

Time: Oct 28, 2-5:30pm
Team Lead: John Hartung

There’s nothing more fun than a bouncy house or a huge inflatable slide— especially while in a costume!! This team will set up and take down the inflatables, supervise and recruit volunteers for the bounce houses experience and provide a safe and fun environment for kids.

MEDIA TEAM

Time: Oct 28, Noon–5pm
Team Lead: Keah Redder

Bring your camera and help us document the event by taking photos, hosting the photo booth and creating posts for our social media platforms.

TECH TEAM

Time: Oct 28, Noon–5pm
Team Lead: Darrin Williams

Run a camera. Set up props on the state. This team makes sure that all technical components of the stage program are seen and heard.

SECURITY TEAM

Time: Oct 28, Noon–5pm
Team Lead: Cy Dieter

Provide a safe environment for everyone who participates in the Octoberfest parties. Training and background check required.

I’LL HELP ANYWHERE TEAM

Time: Varies with the team you join
Team Lead: Dennis Anderson

If you’re not particular about where you serve, Dennis will deploy you on a team that needs you most and fits with your schedule.
