Recovery Is For Everybody

I pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead…” Ephesians 1:19-20
Holy week was awesome this year and I hope you all spent some time in reading the word, prayer, and meditation. As I was reading from the Gospel of John, I ran across a verse that just captivated me. The evening on the first day that Jesus arose from the dead he showed himself to his disciples who were locked behind closed doors, fear and confusion ruled the day. Then Jesus appeared and said “Peace be to you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you.” Then he breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.”  Wow, what would that be like to be in a room with Jesus breathing in his Spirit? The Holy Spirit came alive in me when I experienced being reborn at my church, Crossroads, and through Celebrate Recovery. As I listened to the Easter Service message, I thought how great God is and how grateful I am to have a personal relationship with God through Jesus. And I thought, as I have on many occasions, that recovery is for everybody. The Easter message is about a new life found in Jesus. The greatest recovery book ever written is The Holy Bible; read it, meditate on it, and pray with it. And, when you’re feeling a little lost or stuck or out of whack, remember as a Christ follower you have received the Holy Spirit; life-breathing, truth-revealing, sin-convicting, comfort-giving, and spirit-forgiving. (Life Recovery Bible) God loves you; Jesus died for you; His Spirit lives in you! Say “yes” to Jesus and live Love! Dana Cramer // Celebrate Recovery at Crossroads Church
