Lovingly Flawed

“My little children, I am telling you this so that you will stay away from sin. But if you sin, there is someone to plead for you before the Father. His name is Jesus Christ, the one who is all that is good and who pleases God completely. He is the one who took God’s wrath against our sins upon himself and brought us into fellowship with God; and he is the forgiveness of our sins, and not only ours but all the world’s.” 1 John 2:1-2 (TLB)
How much does God love us? I can’t begin to comprehend, but what I do know is that he loves us enough to die for us through his son, Jesus. Why? Because he knows we need a savior and we can’t make it alone. The trials of going it alone versus going through life with God have some similarities, but totally different outcomes. Pain and suffering is a common denominator, but one path takes you farther from God, and the other draws you closer to him. Some sins seem to obvious, but sin can also hide under some seemingly good motives. Either way, we are all flawed. Nobody is perfect, and we all miss the mark. But God sees through all things and He accepts us as we are and wants more than anything to be in a loving relationship with us. We are all just one step away from surrender, not just once, but seven times seventy. What do you need to surrender to Jesus today? How can he intercede for you? “For God so loved that world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 (NIV) Love God.
