Christmas Time Already?

December 03, 2018, By: Jimmy Scruggs

“Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.” Luke 2:14
Friendship is vital to our existence and no friendship is as important than our relationship with Jesus. Now, there is a friend who will never let you down and will love you unconditionally. But the friendships and relationships of the human kind are as imperfect as each one of us is. This time of year can be a mix of joy and gratitude, but it can also bring extreme busyness, anxiety, heartache and loneliness. As we enter this Christmas season, may we spend some extra time in Bible study, prayer, and meditation. Don’t forget to reach out to those in need, and if it is us in need, may we accept help during our times of trouble. If you have been in CR for a while, don’t forget to do a HEART check. Ask yourselves daily if you are Hurting, Exhausted, Angry, Resentful, or Tense. If you answer yes to any of these, remember that you have the tools to get back on track.
“Be honest in your estimate of yourselves…Hate what is wrong. Stand on the side of the good. Love each other…Be patient in trouble…Do things in such a way that everyone can see you are honest clear through.” Romans 12:3
Stay focused on what Christmas is. God’s love came to earth and our sins are forgiven. God’s love and compassion for us means everything to him and to us. Whatever you receive from Jesus pass it on, it’s not ours to keep! That is the love of Christmas.
“Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his unlimited patience as an example for those who would believe on him, and receive eternal life. Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.” 1 Timothy 1: 15-17
