Jesus reminded His disciples in Matthew 5:14, “You are the light of the world. A city built on a hill cannot be hidden.” These words perfectly capture the uniqueness and brightness of Crossroads Church and our growing, vibrant location. Plans are advancing for an affordable housing neighborhood right in our backyard. We truly are a city on a hill—a unique light shining in our community. Yet, the darkness of Christian Nationalism and exclusionary ideologies are pressing in, threatening to overshadow this light.

These are critical times for our church. We have recently faced some significant financial setbacks that are putting our ability to remain at our Taft Avenue campus in jeopardy. Our campus is an incredible resource not only for Crossroads but also for other progressive Christian ministries committed to peacemaking and inclusion. Our campus is worth our sacrifices, and we can overcome these challenges and continue to shine brightly here for decades to come.

In light of these challenges, we are supersizing our Peace is Worth It campaign. This year and next, we are dedicating our Peace is Worth It giving to sustaining our light as we grow and discern the most effective ways to fund our unique and necessary vision. We can each make a financial commitment that will fuel our light for the next two years as we discern a sustainable financial path while staying dedicated to our mission and vision. Over $110,000 (over 30% of this year’s goal) has already been committed from people inside and outside our church who believe deeply in our mission and vision. Through our extravagant generosity, innovative ministry, and creative funding strategies, we will overcome these challenges and continue to invite, equip and encourage people to follow the peacemaking path of Jesus in their everyday normal lives.

As we navigate this season of recovery, discovery, and growth, your financial support is vital. You are invited to make a significant financial commitment to Peace is Worth It for each of the next two years. Together, we can ensure that Crossroads continues to be a light guiding our community and the world toward peace, hope, and inclusion.

Rewriting the Five Unacceptable Truths
of Our World

The peacemaking light of Crossroads Church is needed now more than ever, and the peacemaking path of Jesus leads us directly to confront beliefs and behaviors that hinder human flourishing and destroy peace on earth. This vision for our church includes investing our time, talent and treasure in programs and learning experiences that will rewrite the Five Unacceptable Truths that permeate our world and lock individuals and communities in prisons of hopelessness.

Every Gift Matters

The 2025-26 Peace is Worth It goal is $322,000 annually for the next two years. We have a great start! We have received pledges and gifts of over $110,000 from our staff, council and people outside our church who recognize and believe that our mission and vision of a progressive, inclusive and healthy spirituality is Worth It. This leaves a fundraising goal of $212,000 for this year. We know that when working toward a big goal, every gift matters.

Experience Hope

Every week, leaders of Crossroads sit with individuals and bear witness to their stories of heartbreak, healing and hope. The stories of lives transformed through the ministries of Crossroads Church are a powerful testament to the need for modern, progressive expressions of the Christian faith.

For years we did not want to give up on our faith but there seemed to be nowhere for us to find community or a safe place we could be ourselves. Crossroads Church has given us hope that we can love each other without being at odds with our faith and that we can have community and a sense of belonging. Crossroads is a place where we can continue to grow in faith and community to make the world a better place and we are so grateful.

Our family has been part of Crossroads Church for over 25 years, largely because it is an inclusive church that embraces everyone. It is an authentic, loving community where we have developed life-long and diverse friendships. Significantly, it’s become a safe place that celebrates our daughter’s relationship and upcoming marriage to her girlfriend–something I could not have imagined we would ever find within Christianity. I believe Crossroads is a hidden gem, and I look forward to more people discovering the unique and loving faith that we have found here.

Crossroads is the first [church] I’ve attended where I truly felt that anyone who wanted a relationship with God would feel welcome. For me, seeing people who are embraced regardless of their ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation or any other feature that often causes them to be rejected by the church was a key reason I kept coming. That level of acceptance, that degree of inclusion was something that reminded me of the way Jesus treated people when he walked the earth. Being part of a church that truly acts like Jesus is exciting and I look forward to the work we’ll accomplish in his name.
