Make the List

April 21, 2020, By: Jimmy Scruggs

I have a question for you. When your world turns upside down, fear lurking all around, doubt and worry occupy your mind, and isolation occurring most of the time; what do you do? Its pandemic time and these descriptive words are more than English rhyme, its what really occupies our mind a lot of the time. We all know how serious this pandemic is so I’m not going to spend any more time talking about the obvious but rather talk about solutions. So, what do you do to? I don’t know about you but I have to change this scenario up, somehow, some way, I need to gain some balance in what and how I am thinking. Enter the Gratitude List. That’s right, make a list of what you are grateful for, put it on your refrigerator door and let it sink in and remind you of what you are really here for. Take some to think about the major areas of your life and list at least 2 things you are grateful for. Here is a suggestion gratitude list from CR and from me to help you get started: How Is God working in your life?  What are two areas you can see God working in your life. “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” Philippians 4:6 Who are you grateful for?  This can include your family, friends, recovery friends and mentors, church family, etc. Why are your grateful for them? “Let the peace of Christ keep you in tune with each other, in step with each other. None of this going off and doing your own thing. And cultivate thankfulness. Let the word of Christ have the run of the house.” Colossians 3:15-16 Recovery . List at least 2 recent growth areas of your recovery and why are you thankful for them. “ As for us we have this large crowd of witnesses around us. So then, let us rid ourselves of everything that gets in the way, and the sin which holds on to us so tightly, and let us run with determination the race that lies before us.” Hebrews 12:1 My Church. List 2 things for which you are thankful for your church. “Enter the Temple gates with thanksgiving.: Psalm 100:4 Who can I help? List 2 people you can help today and be thankful for the opportunity. It doesn’t matter how you help them but that you help them. “And since I, the Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other’s feet. I have given you an example to follow: do as I have done to you.” John 13:14-15 Dana Cramer Celebrate Recovery // Crossroads Church CELEBRATE RECOVERY/CROSSROADS CHURCH UPDATES/REMINDERS:
