When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, “Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.” —Mr. Rogers
Natural disasters can strike without much warning—the Marshall Fire in Boulder County just last year, the Big Thompson Flood in 2013, the Windsor Tornado in 2008, Hurricane Katrina in 2005. And when they hit, Crossroads responds by sending teams of volunteers to serve in whatever capacity is needed—clean up, recovery, basic construction, care of the victims, finances, supplies, etc. Anyone can join a Disaster Relief Team when a call is put out for specific projects or work days.
