I Can’t Fix Everything, But Jesus Can

“Nothing in all creation is able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus.” Romans 8:39
I sure am grateful that God loves messy places. Messy places can be the thoughts that creep into our minds and rob us of our serenity. For me it begins with too much work to do and not enough time to do it. Or, maybe things have gotten out of control and we can’t fix it, even though we keep trying. When stinking thinking enters our minds what are we to do? Well for starters, keep praying, keep talking, and get some rest. And, make a gratitude list and take stock of what God has provided you. I know it’s hard to make a gratitude list when you are feeling overwhelmed, out of control, or messed up. To get you started you could ask God what would happen if he ever got tired of fixing you? If that doesn’t start a conversation, nothing will. My faith tells me that God is real and that when I start playing God, well, life gets pretty messy at times. That’s when I am reminded of who God is; God is “I AM”. He didn’t say I was or I will be, He is “I AM”. He’s here right now and His love for us is indisputable. Does God ever get tired of fixing us? No, as Jesus said “come to me all who are weary and I will give you rest…” God’s love, mercy, forgiveness, and grace cover us completely. Rest assured that if we need some healing in our lives, turn it over to God, he has you covered—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It’s Thanksgiving week, spend some time making that gratitude list. If you know of someone who is alone please invite them for dinner, I bet the fixin’s will be good for the soul! Dana Cramer // Celebrate Recovery at Crossroads
