Breath (Day 35, Tuesday)

March 21, 2021, By: Jimmy Scruggs

Starter Prayer: God of the air in our lungs, at the end of my life, I will ask, “Did I do enough?” Will there be less prisoners, less widows, less orphans, less suffering? Will I have cared about the people you care about? Will I have made a difference? Keep your words in my mouth until I do. Amen.

Focus Word: Breath

TODAY’S SPIRITUAL PRACTICE:

  • Read and reflect on pages 31-32 of the devotional. The link is in every Journey email. If you’re not getting those, register here.
  • Read Psalm 146.
  • Try this breathing practice:
    • Inhale and exhale deeply a few times.
    • Reread verses 8 and 9 of Psalm 146.
    • Allow those words to sink into your bones so that you can sing God’s praises all day long.
  • Make your plans to participate in the Good Friday Experience at Crossroads, in-person, online or on demand. We will reflect upon the hidden wisdom and true power of Christ’s Love. For the in-person option, a reservation is necessary.
  • As the week unfolds, what word or phrase captures your attention? Weave your word into the prayer wall at the Taft Avenue facility; or text your word to 970-500-0970, and the prayer team will weave it into the wall for you.
