Thursday Night Weekend Service Begins March 28

March 13, 2019, By: Jimmy Scruggs

Crossroads is launching a brand new weekend service option, beginning Thursday March 28th at 6:30pm. The music, message, children’s and student programs will mirror the Sunday morning experience. Food will be available for purchase before the service. Read on, because we want to tell you why our staff and ministry leaders are excited for this change. Our largest leadership question has always been: How can we reach and involve more people with the Good News of Jesus Christ? In this latest season, we have asked the question with more fervor and intention. We live in a culture of rapid change, where schedules and routines are never static. Our life patterns of work, school and leisure are different than they were 10 years ago. Families are constantly adapting and finding new ways to organize the week. In the midst of cultural change, it’s becoming increasingly difficult for people of all ages to consistently attend weekend worship services. The growth and popularity of our online campus is a testimony to this reality—and also a good sign that people are spiritually hungry! So… After much prayer, discussion, research and strategizing… we are launching a Thursday night worship service option in place of our current Saturday night service. The Thursday night services will lead off each weekend—offering the same message, same or similar music and full-on programs for children and students. There will also be a focus on building community for college students and young adults. Thursday Night Services will begin on March 28, 2019 at 6:30pm. The final Saturday night service will be March 23 at 5pm. The most difficult part of this decision was considering how this would affect our Saturday night worshiping community. Saturday service has been a blessing to thousands and a joyful way to step into every Crossroads weekend. The volunteers are phenomenal. Many of us will miss this service; and some of us will feel a big loss. We feel this with you. And we pray that whatever new service you choose, God will pour fresh blessing into your life. In a nutshell, there are three BIG reasons we are committed to this change:
  1. We will reach new people by launching a new service in northern Colorado.
  2. We will help people attend church consistently and more often.
  3. We will better serve families with children and teens.
How can you help make Thursday Nights at Crossroads a lasting success?

  2. Introduce your friends to Thursday night. Share it on social media. Invite someone.
  3. Be in touch. Do you have feedback, ideas, questions or concerns? Email us at [email protected]. Or call the church office and ask to talk with a pastor.
We see a huge opportunity here. As with the online campus, an innovative service option will open our doors to more and more people. Just like us, thousands more in Northern Colorado  are looking for a place to belong and grow spiritually. We believe that Crossroads is uniquely positioned to meet that need at this time. Join us in prayer as we step out in a new direction with JOY and expectation.
