Problems or Opportunities

October 21, 2019, By: Jimmy Scruggs

“For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me.” Philippians 1:21-22
We all have problems—not if, but when. The problem with problems is that if you don’t take care of today’s problems, they will become past problems that will affect your actions and attitudes in your new today. I really dislike that when it happens to me. But not all problems are bad, some are very helpful and vital to our growth in Christ and in life. In fact, if you have never had a big problem you are either not living or you’re in denial—the latter is most likely. Repeatedly ignoring problems is like waiting for a thunderstorm to reach ground: it is just a matter of time before you drown. We all experience big problems, but God is bigger. We all fall down, but God is merciful and helps us get back on our feet. We all get lost in our problems, but God gives us a way out, step by step. One day (of many days), we will see that our journey, while difficult at times, will be used by God to help others. When I look at it that way, problems are really opportunities that lead to spiritual growth; admit them, give them to God, learn from them, and share the experience. How can I help another if I have not suffered in some way and been set free/healed by an amazing God? Jesus is the way and Kingdom work is our purpose. If you’re stuck in a hurt, habit or hang-up, try a CR 12-step group. We have new Men’s and Women’s groups that just started and they are open.

God loves you, Jesus died for you, His spirit lives in you! Say Yes to Jesus and live Love!
