Heart Condition

April 03, 2017, By: Jimmy Scruggs

“I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these sisters and brothers of mine, you did for me.” Matthew 25:40
The annual physical, a rite of passage for the middle aged and a necessity for the oldster, you can count me in the oldster’s category. Every year I go in and have my doc look me over and he always spends time checking my heart and the condition it is in. So far I have passed that exam and I am grateful for it. There is another heart condition that needs to be looked at, and that is the spiritual condition of your heart. I don’t know about you, but I once had a very broken, closed, and hardened heart; the symptoms were bitterness, judgement, fear, revenge and hopelessness. I needed a fix, but nothing I did worked until I gave it all to Jesus and started taking his prescription for healing a heart. I found it in Celebrate Recovery and I haven’t been the same since. I can’t soften my hard heart, but Jesus can. It is always amazing to see new people coming to CR, many with broken and hard hearts, and they witness how Jesus transforms their lives and gives them a heart of love and compassion. It isn’t long before you see them helping others, helping them through the principles and steps of recovery; passing on to others what has been passed on to them. You can give without loving, but you can’t love without giving. A heart full of compassion is a giving heart and that is a great condition to be in. Thank you Jesus!! Love God, love people, Jesus first! Dana Cramer Celebrate Recovery at Crossroads
