“So don’t be anxious about tomorrow. God will take care of your tomorrow too. Live one day at a time.” Matthew 6:34
Do you want 2018 to be a great year? I’m sure most of us would answer that question in the positive, I sure would. So how do you go about making 2018 a great year? You do it one day at a time. Living life to the fullest is a great start; taking captive each day and relying on God to show you the way. There will be good days and there will be difficult days, but in all days if we keep Jesus first, we are on the right path. As we grow this year in our faith, in our relationships, in our work and in our recovery, may we experience true humility that is found in God’s grace. Humility is not the same as being humiliated; we do that real well all by ourselves.
Humility isn’t something that comes easy for most of us. It is achieved by surrender and opening up to God’s plan for our lives. Humility is not the opposite of power; it is turning our willpower over to God’s power. Humility is not the opposite of greatness; it is the basis for true greatness. Humility can’t be found in a five and dime novel, it is the result of a transformed mind devoted to God and the living out of his Word in our lives. Humble yourselves before the Lord and he will lift you up!
“Whoever exalts themselves shall be humbled; and whoever humbles themselves shall be exalted.” Matthew 23:12
Love God, love people, Jesus first!
