Grace

July 30, 2018, By: Jimmy Scruggs

“My Grace is enough for you. When you are weak, my power is made perfect in you.” 2 Corinthians 12:9
His grace is enough for us. The verse doesn’t say I need to understand grace, I just need to know that it is enough for me. I can‘t earn it or buy it, I just need to believe in Him and accept it. Have you ever been to a church that doesn’t seem to want to deal with people that have major issues going on in their lives? It’s as if a little brokenness is ok, but a lot of brokenness—not so much. Where’s the Grace? One of the things I love about my church is that we embrace the broken and welcome all who are in need of a Savior. That’s why we have Celebrate Recovery at Crossroads. In CR we find a program that’s all about God’s grace, starting with the 8 principles based on the Beatitudes and the application of grace in the 12 steps. The people I have seen over the years that are successful in 12 step recovery are those who quit playing God and accept his grace. Many that don’t recover simply refuse to stop playing God. Receiving grace is only part of the equation; recovery is incomplete until we extend grace and forgiveness to others. As I continue to experience grace I am convinced it is the essence of our Christian walk. If you want someone to see what God can do for them, let them see what God has done for you. There is no shame in identifying what has brought you to CR. In our weakness and brokenness, Jesus comes through with life-transforming changes that show his true power to everyone. Question: How has Grace manifested itself in your walk with Christ? Prayer: Dear Jesus, thank you for this day, this moment, this second. Thank you for your unconditional love and forgiveness, the amazing Grace you continue to give us every day. I pray that I may extend your grace to all I am in relationship with now and in the future. Amen.   Dana Cramer // Celebrate Recovery at Crossroads
