Celebrate

“And you will sing as on the night you celebrate a holy festival; your hearts will rejoice as when people go up with flutes to the mountain of the Lord, to the Rock of Israel,” Isaiah 30:29
Celebration seems to be the theme this time of year, sharing the Good News of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Celebrate Recovery celebrated its thirteenth anniversary at Crossroads Church last Friday night and what a celebration it was. Celebrating through song, testimony and praise, the program was amazing. Testimony after testimony of changed lives; the acknowledgment of lives being reborn and transformed by our loving God. It was a celebration of Jesus, the Cross and the Resurrection. As I listened the truth rang out loud and clear; Jesus came not to make us perfect, but to save us from ourselves and enter into a forever relationship with him. In Him we find hope and the power to move out of the past into a better future, one day at a time. In Him we carry the Good News to others, people helping people. All this was on display Friday night and we were moved as only God can move us. The Celebration continued over the weekend with a Crossroads message and testimony on Celebration. What did I learn? Celebration is built into the fabric of being God’s people and yet many of us don’t celebrate enough. That hit a chord with me and my first thought was something I learned a long time ago in recovery. If you are feeling down or overwhelmed, stop and pray, make a gratitude list and thank God for what he has done in your life, then go out and help somebody by sharing the Good News. Turn your down into an up through celebrating Jesus. “My grace is enough for you…” 2 Corinthians 12:9 Celebrate what is found. Recover what was lost. Love God, love people, Jesus first!
