Celebrate

July 03, 2017, By: Jimmy Scruggs

“Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.” Romans 12:10-13
We had a wonderful Celebrate Recovery Celebration last Friday night. People celebrating from 24 hours to 10 years of recovery; the newcomer to the old timer celebrating a common reality; we need God and we need people in our lives to help us overcome a life that is in need of healing. Recovery starts when we break out of our denial and it continues for a lifetime in service to others by carrying the Good News: Jesus is our Lord and Savior. For those of us who have played the imitation game, we have come to believe that there is but one God and you and I are not him. The testimonies presented last Friday night were of hope, healing, transformation, gratitude, and new beginnings. “I once was lost, but now I’m found” was very evident as people shared from their heart what recovery means to them and in doing so played a vital role in spreading the Good News to others. It doesn’t matter what brings you to Celebrate Recovery, as one participant said, “We are many from differing backgrounds and issues, but we are one in Jesus.” It doesn’t matter what you have done or where you come from, what matters is your relationship with Jesus and with each other. When we do as Jesus asks us to do, Love God and each other, everything starts to fall into place. If you are struggling with a hurt, habit, or hang-up try Celebrate Recovery on Friday nights. It’s a great place to start your new beginning. Mark your calendars, Celebrate Recovery at Crossroads will be starting new 12-step groups on August 14. Have a great 4th of July tomorrow! Love God, love people, Jesus first! Dana Cramer // Celebrate Recovery at Crossroads
