I Can’t Fix Everything, But Jesus Can

August 12, 2019, By: Jimmy Scruggs

“Nothing in all creation is able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus.” Romans 8:39 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest… For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30
I sure am grateful that God loves messy people. Let’s face it; we all get into messy places at times—not if, but when. Relationships, family, work, even retirement isn’t immune to messiness. What would happen if God ever got tired of healing us? I don’t even want to think about it. But in truth, there isn’t much to think about is there. My faith tells me that God is real, but when I get caught playing God, well, life gets pretty messy at times. God is “I AM.” He didn’t say I was or I will be, but I AM. He’s here right now and his love for us is indisputable. How do we know that? Just ask His son, Jesus. God’s greatest gift to us is Jesus. How grateful I am for this gift. He never tires of fixing us; He shows us the path we must walk to recover from our hurts, habits and hang-ups. It was a messy time for Jesus, from cradle to the Cross, but He was willing to endure it all because He loves each and every one of us. Jesus provides real hope and a way out from our human condition. Thank you Jesus!! If you’re stuck in a hurt-habit-or hang up, try a CR 12 step group. We have a new Women’s group starting soon. A new Men’s 12 step group has started and enrollment is open.
God showed how much He loved us by sending His only Son into the world so that we can have eternal life through Him. This is real love. He sent His Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.” 1 John 4:9-10
